Vietnam

I visited Vietnam in 2001 and absolutely loved it.  Hanoi was where I spent the most time, a bustling busy city, it was my first port of call on my round the world trip.  I had travelled before but never to a busy Asian city.  As I was travelling alone, it was a little overwhelming initially, but if you take it slow and just get your bearings then it becomes a lot more fun.

How much will it cost to holiday in Vietnam?

There are a number of things to check before you start travelling.

  1.  Do I need a visa to go to Vietnam?

As a citizen of Australia, you are required to have a Visa to visit Vietnam.  The Australian Government therefore recommends that you apply for a visa directly from the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam.  The Smartraveller link will tell you what you need to know about Australians travelling to Vietnam.

2. When is the rainy season in Vietnam?

The rainy season occurs between June and December every year.  Even typhoons and flash flooding can occur so get as much information as you can before you leave.
